The WWE Draft 2016 is now on the books. On this post we're gonna be taking a look at all the picks for this year's WWE Draft and share my thoughts on them. No B.S. here, let's just cut straight through the blog because it's gonna be a big one! Round 1 1. Seth Rollins (RAW) - Everybody saw this coming! 1st overall draft pick for this year's WWE Draft is Crossfit Jesus himself: Seth Rollins! 2. Dean Ambrose (SD) - Ambrose successfully defended the WWE title at Rollins later at the night, I have doubts if he will do so at BattleGround though. 3. Charlotte (RAW) - The Women's Champion goes to RAW. So they are dividing the Women's Division after all instead of just putting them into one brand... kind of a shit decision if you ask me. 4. AJ Styles (SD) - Great pick, like many have said Styles will definitely be the "backbone" of the SmackDown Roster. 5. Finn Balor (RAW) - The first NXT Draft pick of the night goes to the longest reigning NXT Champion: Finn Balor and it's great that he is finally on the main roster after months of teasing us via Twitter! Round 2 6. Roman Reigns (RAW) - We all know somewhere down the road Reigns was gonna get drafted, but the real shocker to me is how early and high was he drafted! He got picked over Cena,Lesnar, and Orton? That's just crazy! 7. John Cena (SD) - Let's hope Cena actually stays on SmackDown this time.... 8. Brock Lesnar (RAW) - I don't know how WWE will deal with Brock's current issues with all the drug tests and shit. Hope it all goes well in the end. 9. Randy Orton (SD) - Hooray for possibly more Cena vs Orton matches!!!! Said by no one ever. 10. New Day (RAW) - I'm glad that The New Day are not split up, all three of them are going to RAW. We still don't know how will they be defending the tag-titles though. Round 3 11. Sami Zayn (RAW) - Zayn is on RAW, ain't that great? Well now people quickly assumed Owens will be on SmackDown but nope. Guess they are gonna continue this rivalry with them for a while, so much for the buildup on their supposed "final faceoff" at BattleGround. 12. Bray Wyatt (SD) - Bray Wyatt heads his way to SmackDown with Rowan while Strowman is drafted to RAW. Harper was not drafted so we'll see how will this will affect The Wyatt Family as a whole. 13. Sasha Banks (RAW) - The Boss goes to RAW and continues her feud with Charlotte & Dana. I'm predicting she'll finally win the Women's Title at SummerSlam. 14. Becky Lynch (SD) - Seems like The Irish Lass Kicker will be heading the Women's Division at SmackDown. It's still a lame idea to split up the women's division in it's current state. 15. Chris Jericho (RAW) - RAW is Jericho! That's all that needs to be said really. Round 4 16. Rusev w/ Lana (RAW) - The U.S. Championship goes to RAW. 17. The Miz w/ Maryse (SD) - The Intercontinental Championship goes to SmackDown. 18. Kevin Owens (RAW) - Should have been drafted much higher than this! 19. Baron Corbin (SD) - If SmackDown gets its own World Title, I bet Corbin is one of the top contenders to win it. They have mentioned that he is a "future WWE Champion" after all. 20. Enzo & Cass (RAW) - I'm glad they didn't split them up yet, they certainly won't work if they're on their own in my opinion. Give them some time. Round 5 21. Gallows & Anderson (RAW) - So they are splitting up The Club now as Gallows & Anderson heads to RAW with their old buddy: Finn Balor waiting for them! 22. American Alpha (SD) - After months of speculation, they are finally making it on the main roster! Let's hope they don't become another tag-team flop like The Ascension or Vaudevillains. 23. Big Show (RAW) - I don't think anybody cared where Big Show is going. He's gonna have a match on WrestleMania 33 against SHAQ though, umm yay? 24. Dolph Ziggler (SD) - For me Ziggler has turned into one of those wrestlers "yeah he's there but I don't really care" I'm sorry but the way he's being booked, I just got bored of him. If he gets his time to shine on SD, that's great but if not then I could care less. 25. Nia Jax (RAW) - Another draft pick from NXT, The Big Samoan Lady: Nia Jax heads to RAW. People were complaining that it should have been Bayley instead but I honestly don't mind Nia. I used to hate her but she's improving. Round 6 26. Neville (RAW) - With the Cruiserweight Division being at RAW, Neville will definitely have a great future up ahead of him when he returns! 27. Natalya (SD) - RAW got Neville and SmackDown's answer for it is Nattie? Really though?! 28. Cesaro (RAW) - Another great pick for RAW. For real I thought Cesaro would be on SD but hey I won't mind wherever he goes as long as he stays relevant. 29. Alberto Del Rio (SD) - Del Rio is a great wrestler but SmackDown is obviously on the losing end when it comes into draft picks. Just this round alone they clearly loss. 30. Sheamus (RAW) - So glad he's not on SmackDown cause we don't wanna see Orton vs Sheamus too for the 1000th time! Other Draft Picks The televised rounds of the draft only reached until Round 6. The rest of the draft was aired on the Network and honestly you really won't miss anything except for two picks: Alexa Bliss & Carmella making their main roster debuts. So here's just a quick rundown of the rest of the draft: Round 7 31 - Golden Truth (RAW) 32 - The Usos (SD) 33 - Titus O'Neil (RAW) 34 - Demon Kane (SD) 35 - Paige (RAW) Round 8 36 - Darren Young w/ Bob Backlund (RAW) 37 - Kalisto (SD) 38 - Sin Cara (RAW) 39 - Naomi (SD) 40 - Jack Swagger (RAW) 41 - The Ascension (SD) Round 9 42 - Dudley Boyz (RAW) 43 - Zack Ryder (SD) 44 - Summer Rae (RAW) 45 - Apollo Crews (SD) 46 - Mark Henry (RAW) 47 - Alexa Bliss (SD) Round 10 48 - Braun Strowman (RAW) 49 - Breezango (SD) 50 - Bo Dallas (RAW) 51 - Eva Marie (SD) 52 - Shining Stars (RAW) 53 - The Vaudevillains (SD) Round 11 54 - Alicia Fox (RAW) 55 - Erick Rowan (SD) 56 - Dana Brooke (RAW) 57 - Mojo Rawley (SD) 58 - Curtis Axel (RAW) 59 - Carmella (SD) Final Thoughts & Remarks It seems like most of the draft picks were just last minute decisions, like RAW just demolished SmackDown in terms of draft picks. In the 1st and 2nd Rounds of the draft it was still being a "fair" draft in terms of both shows, but as we go down the line things just got ridiculous! For example in the Round 4 of the Draft, RAW got Rusev,Owens, and Enzo & Cass and what is SD's answer? Miz & Corbin! Like no offense to those guys but damn those are weak picks if you compare them to RAW's, same goes for Round 6 as well. This whole draft seems like it was only created to make RAW look strong! Like seriously. Not only that right? But RAW will even have a Cruiserweight Division too! What's left with SmackDown besides Cena,Orton,Ambrose, and Styles? Absolutely nothing! There Women's and Tag-Team Division is looking weaker too in comparison to RAW's. One of the biggest upsets that all of us fans were disappointed too about was Bayley not being drafted! For sure she would've been one of the Top Draft picks in building up the women's division for each brand. I guess there's still hope though as Sasha Banks will face Charlotte & Dana on BattleGround with a mystery partner, so I'm guessing it would be Bayley if they actually wanna make it special. As for the show itself, I felt like they rushed it way too much. They should've only had like 2-3 matches because a lot of the matches we had were pretty much pointless, and have the rest of the show dedicated for the draft which is all what we watched for anyway. I also miss the live reactions from the wrestlers backstage when the drafts are happening but we got none of that. Also people are complaining that the SmackDown set is looking generic as hell so I hope next episode we get to see a brand new fresher set for SmackDown, if not then at least bring back the old giant fist? There are also wrestlers who weren't drafted during the night, most of them probably because of injuries like Luke Harper,Emma, and Tamina. Poor Heath Slater didn't get picked and was stuck alone backstage which I thought was a funny bit. The commentary teams were also split up. We got Michael Cole leading the commentary team for RAW along with Byron Saxton and coming from NXT: Corey Graves! SmackDown on the other hand will have Mauro Ranallo along with JBL and David Otunga. What will happen to Jerry Lawler? I don't know and honestly I could care less with all due respect. JBL though, why is he still a commentator? I would take Booker T over him anyday! The rumored wrestlers that were supposedly returning for the draft like Kurt Angle,Rey Mysterio, and Goldberg all didn't show up which some fans are mad about and I honestly wasn't. I knew from the beginning that there's a low chance of that happening anyway, especially if they are serious with this "New Era" B.S. then why hire back those wrestlers who are in their late 30's and 40's, who will for sure get over with the fans thus overshadowing the younger talents? Just a food for the thought. Okay so my overall final thoughts on the WWE Draft can be sum up into one word: DISAPPOINTMENT. There you go. What are your thoughts on the WWE Draft?
