Welcome to MWC's new weekly blog series called "MWC Wrestler of the Week." I think this is pretty self-explanatory, basically every Friday (Philippine Time) we will feature a wrestler here on the website. It can be a current wrestler,a legend,Hall of Famer, whatever as long as he or she has wrestled then they have a chance to be featured! I'm using a random generator to pick the wrestlers every week. For the very first edition of MWC Wrestler of the Week, the chosen one is wrestling legend; Mark Lewin! Bio: Name: Mark Lewin Birthday: March 16,1937 From: Buffalo,New York,USA Height: 6'1'' Weight: 220 lbs Debut: 1953 Retired: 1998 Website: maniacmarklewin.com Ring Names: Mark Lewin "Maniac" Mark Lewin Purple Haze Skippy Jackson Notable Titles: NWA Brass Knuckles Champion (8x) IWA World Heavyweight Champion (2x) IWA World Tag-Team Champion (8x) NWA American Tag-Team Champion (2x) WCCW Tag-Team Champion WCCW Six Man Tag-Team Champion WWWF United States Tag-Team Champion (2x) Promotions Wrestled: NWA WWWF AJPW WCCW UWF Stampede Wrestling Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Championship Wrestling from Florida Big Time Wrestling Maple Leaf Wrestling Mark Lewin made his debut on wrestling in 1953 wherein he had an early success as a babyface tag-team with Don Curtis. There tag-team was headlining major territories all over New York & Chicago. They shocked the world when they turned heels! During the 60's, Lewin embarked in a singles career. He also went on to have a new gimmick called "Maniac" Mark Lewin wherein he had a split personality like-gimmick. At this point he can be classified both as a face when he is just plain ol' Mark Lewin and as a heel when he is "Maniac" Mark Lewin which was pretty interesting. During the 60's to 70's Lewin was touring all over Australia & New Zealand where he would find success both as a singles and tag-team competitor. He would constantly feud with the likes of The Sheik,Terry Funk,Gene Kiniski, and "Bulldog" Bob Brown. At the latter part of his career, Lewin had another gimmick called "Purple Haze" during his run at WCCW where he was a member of Kevin Sullivan's cult "Army of Darkness." In the 80's he would constantly be wrestling against Sabu. In 1998 Mark Lewin decided to hang up the boots. Most recent news about Mark Lewin is that he recently had his book about his wrestling career which is called "The Multiple Personalities of Mark Lewin" which you can check out here! He has also made shoot interviews which can be viewed on YouTube. Thanks for reading.
