As they say it's better late than never! So here is my review for the 30th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble! Without further ado, let's get into this shall we? Pre-Show Matches I don't watch the pre-shows mainly because I don't got enough time so I only managed to watch some of the highlights at WWE's YouTube channel and the matches here were decent at best. 6 Women's Tag-Team Match: Becky,Nikki,& Naomi def. Bliss,Mickie,& Natalya I really thought the heels were gonna win this one considering it's Mickie James' first match on her return in the main roster but I guess they're building up Naomi vs Alexa for the next PPV as she got the pin on the SD Women's Champion. Just your standard 6 Women's Tag match, nothing really spectacular to see. RAW Tag-Team Championships: The Club def. Cesaro & Sheamus This one I got another prediction wrong as I thought Cesaro & Sheamus would retain the belts for now. After all they were the ones who ended New Day's record long reign but they had The Club finally win the tag belts! In the pre-show... I know I'm supposed to be like overly happy about this but to be honest I'm not. I'm glad Gallows & Anderson have the belts but it's just too late for me now. They should've won the belts much earlier, around the time they debut but instead their focus was New Day beating Demolition's record. It doesn't help when The Club won the belts in front of a half full crowd, I reckon they should've had this on the main card instead but whatever! As for the match itself, it's just what you'll expect to see in an episode of RAW. All four wrestlers are good workers so you won't really get a bad match from them. Women's Match: Nia Jax def. Sasha Banks Speaking of bad match, this one is just awful. Nia beat Sasha in what is almost like a "squash match." I guess they're trying to book Nia Jax as a dominant women ala Awesome Kong? But I just don't feel that way about her. Meltzer gave this match 1 star so I guess that's enough for you to know how bad this match was. RAW Women's Championship: |
