As of May 6,2016 WWE has come to terms to the release of 8 talents from their roster. The people that were released are as follows: Damien Sandow,Wade Barrett,Hornswoggle,El Torito,Santino Marella,Alex Riley,Zeb Colter, and Cameron. Now today on Masto's 2 Cents, I will be sharing my thoughts and opinions on each of the released wrestlers, so let's get right onto this shall we? Wade Barrett When I heard the news of Wade Barrett deciding not to re-sign his contract in WWE I knew he won't still be in the company when 2017 comes in. After getting kicked out of the League of Nations we never saw him in TV again. Barrett was definitely a big missed opportunity in the WWE, he could've easily been a World Champion for the company but him getting injured a lot of times really held him back. He worked a lot of great gimmicks such as being the leader of The Nexus and Bad News Barrett, those gimmicks really got over! But he also had gimmicks like King Barrett which never really worked. Overall Barrett is a good wrestler and could've been a top guy in the company. I heard he's taking a break from wrestling for a while so whatever he's planning to do I wish him good luck! Santino Marella I was actually surprised to know that Santino still works for the WWE! I thought he was released a long time ago already since he retired in the ring. Anyways unlike most people I actually enjoyed Santino's work, well some of it at least. His early days in the WWE were actually really funny (for me at least) but as the years go by and when he started doing the cobra gimmick, it just got obnoxious and got old fast. Although I did kinda enjoy his tag-team run with Vladimir Kozlov, I guess I'm the only person that did! Santino had a good run in the WWE, winning the IC and Tag-Team Titles. I wish him well whatever he's planning outside of the wrestling business. Cameron It's still a mystery on why the hell did WWE hire Cameron in the first place! First off I will always remember her for that funny moment in Tough Enough 2011 where Stone Cold asked her what's her favorite match and she said "Melina vs Alicia Fox" and I just couldn't stop laughing about that! Also she can't wrestle to save her life! I even think Eva Marie is better than her because at least Eva gets heel heat while nobody just cares about Cameron. Her only major feud that I remember and it was an awful one was against Naomi when they split up The Funkdactyls, and she went over in that one! I never cared about Cameron and I'm just glad she's gone in the WWE. Hornswoggle Did You Know? Hornswoggle has been with the WWE for almost a decade! Unbelievable indeed! Hornswoggle's only purpose is for comedic acts. I did enjoy his early work with Finlay but the rest of the stuff he did was just stupid. Being the Cruiserweight Champion (the last one in fact!), becoming Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son, becoming a member of DX,the anonymous RAW GM,and had a run as The Mini Gator. I did enjoy his feud against El Torito, they gave us quite possibly the best midget match in wrestling history which was the WeeLC Match! I'm not being sarcastic, if you haven't watched that match yet then I highly recommend it! El Torito When I saw Los Matadores being re-packaged as Primo & Epico again I wondered on what will they do with El Torito? The answer was nothing. El Torito aka Mascarita Dorada is actually a very skilled wrestler, even Chris Hero said that he's one of the best wrestlers he ever fought in the ring! He is one of the best Mini Estrellas in Lucha Libre today. WWE I guess just treats midget wrestlers as comedic acts, they stuck him with a stupid bull gimmick with Los Matadores that never got over. He'll get used better back in his home country of Mexico or even in Lucha Underground! Alex Riley I know a lot of people are big fans of Alex Riley but me, I just never cared about him. I know he's a great wrestler but I just find him boring and plain. His feud with The Miz was pretty forgettable and even when they re-packaged him in NXT I still never cared about him. His last match was against Shinsuke Nakamura which we will see this week, he went out getting his ass kicked, poor guy. Although to be fair he did had a good commentary run, I wish he would've stayed as one. I guess he'll get used better in other promotions like TNA,ROH,or even Japan. Good luck to him and all but I was just never a fan of Alex Riley. Zeb Colter I actually really liked Zeb Colter and his run with the WWE, really enjoyed his gimmick! He actually gave life back to Jack Swagger but sadly he still wasn't able to go over as much as he used to. I don't know why WWE actually decided to just release Zeb, he could've been a great writer for them, the man actually has a very smart mind for the business! I guess the man just wants to retire and live a happy life at this point, can't blame him. I wish Dirty Dutch all the best! Damien Sandow Last but not the least we got Damien Sandow. Where do I even begin with this? When talking about wasted talents in the WWE, Sandow is definitely one that comes to mind first! The man can work whatever gimmick he was given to him! Whether it's the intellectual savior,Macho Mandow, impersonating other people, and Miz's stunt double. The man has it all! He is a great in-ring worker,he has fantastic mic skills, and the most important one of all he is a fan favorite! WWE really messed up Sandow when he loss to John Cena after cashing in his MITB, he really wasn't able to bounce back from that. I will definitely miss seeing Sandow not only in WWE, but even on UpUpDownDown! I'm pretty sure he'll have a great career wherever he's headed and WWE will see how much of a great talent they just lossed. So those are the wrestlers that were released so far in WWE as of May 2016. I guess we will see more soon too, unfortunately. Guys like Ryback,Adam Rose,The Ascension, and Jack Swagger are some of the people I'm seeing not lasting long with the company.
