Welcome to another edition of Masto's 2 Cents where I, Super Mastodon will be sharing my thoughts on various topics or news in the world of professional wrestling... and MMA! Today's topics will be CM Punk's venture into UFC and his recent back surgery and also about the whole ordeal about Titus O'Neil's recent suspension in the WWE. Please remember that the things you will see below are my own thoughts & opinions so if you don't agree with something then feel free to leave a comment below. Other than that, let's get right on to this! CM Punk's Venture into UFC & Back Surgery So I'm gonna tackle first about CM Punk's situation. You know when Punk first announced that he's venturing into MMA and that he's going to fight for UFC, everybody was hyped! But it seems like more people are getting off of that hype train each day. First it was rumored that his UFC debut will be on December 2015, but that obviously didn't happen. Then they said that they're going to find Punk's first opponent in a reality show, I don't know what happened to that. Then just a few days or weeks ago, Punk's official debut opponent was announced and that is Mickey Gall. Gall is currently (2-0) at his professional MMA record and even though he's just fresh into MMA, he impressed everybody by knocking out his opponent; Mike Jackson under 45 seconds of the first round! After this fight Punk came into the octagon and shook hands with Gall. But days after that announcement, it was announced that CM Punk has to undergo back surgery, apparently he got this injury during his WWE days and just realized or felt it recently. Which means his UFC debut is once again delayed, but his staff said that they expect him to fight at least once in 2016... Bullshit! Punk has been out in WWE for a year now. Obviously he should've felt that injury already long time ago! I honestly think this is just another excuse from Punk and his team, don't get me wrong I was hyped as well when he announced his venture into UFC but just like many other fans, I've came down that hype train as well. Plus I think Punk is scared of his opponent, Mickey Gall is a skilled fighter and he's way younger than Punk! Gall is only 24 years old while Punk is already 37. And unlike Brock Lesnar, Punk isn't really that heavyweight brawler guy, if they didn't do anything shady and if he will ever fight Mickey Gall then I think he'll get KO'd in his first fight! I think Punk is scared of getting embarrassed and if I were him I would be to! After all the things he said, I'm sure that's the last thing that he wants to happen and that is getting KO'd within mere seconds into his first fight on UFC! Titus O'Neil's suspension Daniel Bryan's retirement isn't the only one that drove the internet crazy, but Titus O'Neil's suspension as well! For those that didn't know what happened yet well basically, Titus grabbed Vince's arm according to him in a "playful, physical manner." But Vince didn't take this any lightly and pushed Titus back off, this apparently ticked off the boss. The next day when Titus was going to WWE for the SmackDown tapings, he was sent back home and was reported to be suspended due to said altercation. It was first announced that Titus will be suspended for 90 days, but it was later cleared by WWE that it's only for 60 days, which is still a lot. For a man who does a lot of charity work and is probably one of the nicest guys in wrestling today, that was very awful for Vince to do. I'm sure Titus didn't mean any harm when he did that, it's just that Vince took it way too far and made a whole thing out of it. Like people said if that was like John Cena or Roman Reigns, Vince wouldn't suspend them. Now do I think this was an act of racism? No. Vince was just being a grumpy old man during that moment, I don't think he suspended Titus because he's black. It just so happened that people speculated that. Well as for Titus, I don't think he should've had done that in the first place. Especially if it's to THE BOSS! Apparently Titus told Vince that he should let Stephanie walk first ("ladies first") but he shouldn't have. I know he's being a gentleman and all (if those reports were true) but just leave the boss be. Don't bother in his business. Both parties made mistakes. Let's just hope this doesn't get into Titus getting fired. Maybe they should even turn this into a storyline, maybe turn Titus heel and have him rant about unfair treatments in wrestling? I don't know maybe I'm digging way too much into this! So there goes my 2 Cents about the whole deal with CM Punk & Titus O'Neil. Feel free to leave me your thoughts on the comments below!
