The Global Honored Crown (GHC) Heavyweight Championship is the top title of Japanese promotion: Pro Wrestling NOAH. Since it's inception and to this very day with the crop of wrestlers that have held the belt, it is considered by many as one of the most prestigious championships in all of pro wrestling! NOAH is one of my personal favorite promotions. I've heard about it many times before but it's just recently where I managed to watch a lot of their classic matches and events. Right now it is a promotion I'm an avid follower of despite it being far away from it's glory days. For the unaware here is a short history of Pro Wrestling NOAH. The promotion was founded by legendary wrestler Mitsuharu Misawa. Him and 23 other wrestlers from AJPW left said promotion to build their own and thus NOAH began it's Navigation. There was a time period where NOAH is the hottest wrestling promotion in the world! Thanks to the insanely talented members of it's roster, they are able to set themselves on fire within the first few years of the company! While NJPW were dealing with Inoki's tyrant leadership and AJPW trying to keep afloat, NOAH sold out Tokyo Dome in 2005 with their biggest show to date: Destiny. Sadly though after the shocking death of Mitsuharu Misawa and with other controversies that surrounded the company, it almost faded into obscurity. They are still around though and are trying their best to still give their loyal fans and possibly new or returning ones a worthy and great show. Anyway, I decided to do an article regarding the GHC Heavyweight Championship. It's a fascinating title with already a rich history with it not being as old in comparison to NJPW's IWGP Title and AJPW's Triple Crown. We're gonna be taking a look at EVERY individual title holder from The Master of the Emerald Flowsion to the current Ace of NOAH. Without further ado, MWC presents the hall of GHC Heavyweight Champions! #1 |
